Use the Additives administration page to view, edit, and add additives in Copia.

Accessing this Page

• Click the Administration menu button, click the Order Choice Setup button, and then click the Additives submenu link. You must have the necessary security permissions to access the Administration menu button.

When you click the Administration menu button, Copia opens the main Administration menu, which contains administrative menu buttons, including the Order Choice Setup menu. To return to the main menu for Copia, click the Lab Tasks menu button.

Viewing the Additives List

1. The Additive list page contains a list of up to ten additives, displayed in alphabetical order. If the list is longer than one page, use the Page links, located below the list of additives, to navigate through the list.
2. To view active additives only, select the Show active only checkbox at the top of the Additive list page. You may set the active/inactive status in the Additive Details section of the Additive details page. See "Adding and Editing Additives" below.
3. To narrow the list of displayed additives, or to find a specific additive, enter an additive into the Name field. This is a search-as-you-type field. Click the Refresh button to refresh additive results in the table list.
4. If you cannot find the desired additive, click the Add button to add an additive. See "Adding and Editing Additives" below.
5. Click the name of the additive in order to view/edit additive details for the selected additive. Click the Save button to save any changes made to the additive.

Adding and Editing Additives

1. Click the Add button on the Additive list page to add an additive via the Additive details page.
2. Enter the name of the additive in the Additive field located in the Additive Details section. This field is required. Select the Active checkbox to make the Additive have an active status.
3. Click the Associated Tube/Container Types button to display the Associated Tube/Container Types pop-up to view the tube/container types that use the specific additive. Select the Show active only checkbox to only view active additives in the pop-up. Click the Close button to close the pop-up followed by returning to the Additives details page.
4. Click the Associated Specimen Source Categories button to display the Associated Specimen Source Categories pop-up to view the specimen source categories that use the specific additive. Select the Show active only checkbox to only view active additives in the pop-up. Click the Close button to close the pop-up followed by returning to the Additives details page.
5. Click the name of any additive on the Additive list page to edit additive detail information.
6. Click the Save button to add the additive to the Additive list page. The new additive will appear in the additive table list. Click the < Back to List button to return to the Additive list page without adding an additive.

Adding Host Codes for Additives

1. Select the Show active hosts only checkbox located in the Host Codes for this Additive section to have Copia only show active hosts.
2. Enter a host code in the available field located to the right of the host name in the Host Code column.
3. Click the HL7 2.5.1 button to the far right of the host name to add HL7 2.5.1 codes via the HL7 2.5.1 Codes pop-up.
   • Enter an HL7 2.5.1 code into the HL7 2.5.1 Code field to add the code. This field is required.
   • Enter an HL7 2.5.1 code system into the HL7 2.5.1 Code System field to add the code system. This field is required.
   • Enter an HL7 2.5.1 version number into the HL7 2.5.1 Version field to add a version number. This field is required.
   • Click the Save button to save any changes made on the HL7 2.5.1 Codes pop-up, or click the Cancel button to close the pop-up without saving any changes. The HL7 2.5.1 button text will turn green and in italics when HL7 2.5.1 code(s) have been added.
4. Click the Save button on the Additive details page to save any changes made on the page, or click the < Back to List button to return to the Additive list page without saving any changes.
