Use the Collection Methods administration page to view, edit, and add collection methods in Copia.

Accessing this Page

• Click the Administration menu button, click the Order Choice Setup button, and then click the Collection Methods submenu link. You must have the necessary security permissions to access the Administration menu button.

When you click the Administration menu button, Copia opens the main Administration menu, which contains administrative menu buttons, including the Order Choice Setup menu. To return to the main menu for Copia, click the Lab Tasks menu button.

Viewing the Collection Methods List

1. The Collection Method list page contains a list of up to ten collection methods, displayed in alphabetical order. If the list is longer than one page, use the Page links, located below the list of collection methods, to navigate through the list.
2. To view active collection methods only, select the Show active only checkbox at the top of the Collection Method list page. You may set the active/inactive status in the Collection Method Details section of the Collection Method details page. See "Adding and Editing Collection Methods" below.
3. To narrow the list of displayed collection methods, or to find a specific collection method, enter a collection method into the Name field. This is a search-as-you-type field. Click the Refresh button to refresh collection method results in the table list.
4. If you cannot find the desired collection method, click the Add button to add a collection method. See "Adding and Editing Collection Methods" below.
5. Click the name of the collection method in order to view/edit collection method details for the selected collection method. Click the Save button to save any changes made to the collection method.

Adding and Editing Collection Methods

1. Click the Add button on the Collection Method list page to add a collection method via the Collection Method details page.
2. Enter the name of the collection method in the Collection Method field located in the Collection Method Details section. This field is required. Select the Active checkbox to make the Collection Method have an active status.
3. Click the name of any collection method on the Collection Method list page to edit collection method detail information.
4. Click the Save button to add the collection method to the Collection Method list page. The new collection method will appear in the collection method table list. Click the < Back to List button to return to the Collection Method list page without adding an collection method.

Adding Host Codes for Collection Methods

1. Select the Show active hosts only checkbox located in the Host Codes for this Collection Method section to have Copia only show active hosts.
2. Enter a host code in the available field located to the right of the host name in the Host Code column.
3. Click the HL7 2.5.1 button to the far right of the host name to add HL7 2.5.1 codes via the HL7 2.5.1 Codes pop-up.
   • Enter an HL7 2.5.1 code into the HL7 2.5.1 Code field to add the code. This field is required.
   • Enter an HL7 2.5.1 code system into the HL7 2.5.1 Code System field to add the code system. This field is required.
   • Enter an HL7 2.5.1 version number into the HL7 2.5.1 Version field to add a version number. This field is required.
   • Click the Save button to save any changes made on the HL7 2.5.1 Codes pop-up, or click the Cancel button to close the pop-up without saving any changes. The HL7 2.5.1 button text will turn green and in italics when HL7 2.5.1 code(s) have been added.
4. Click the Save button on the Collection Method details page to save any changes made on the page, or click the < Back to List button to return to the Collection Method list page without saving any changes.
