Use the ICD-9 Search page to select the desired ICD-9 codes from the list of available codes.

Selecting an ICD-9 Code

1. Enter one or more characters of the ICD-9 code or description in the Search field, and then click the Search button to view the list of ICD-9 codes that match your search.
2. The page contains a list of up to ten ICD-9 codes and their descriptions. If the list is longer than one page, use the Page links, located below the list of ICD-9 codes, to navigate through the list. If there are more page links than can fit on the page at once, Copia displays the Page field. Enter a number in this field and press the Enter key on the keyboard to immediately open the selected page.
3. If there were no matches to your search and you wish to add a new code, click the Add new ICD-9 button to create the new ICD-9 code on the ICD-9 tab on the Medical Necessity administration page. See the Admin: Medical Necessity topic.
4. Click an ICD-9 code to return to the Medical Necessity administration page with that code mapped to the selected CPT code in the Mapped ICD-9 Codes for CPT ___ section. See the Admin: Medical Necessity topic.
5. Click Cancel to return to the Medical Necessity administration page without selecting an ICD-9 code.
